Carolyn Spear was raised in a rural Tidewater Virginia, the kind of place where everyone knows everyone. While she's moved around the Eastern Seaboard, she's back home in Tidewater, married with two teenage girls and a pampered princess of a dog.

As a teenager, she sneaked her mother's Barbara Cartland romances. These historical romances full of dashing British rogues and spirited ingenues opened a door to another world. Now, years later, Carolyn's mission is to introduce readers to her world.
