SAILOR’S DELIGHT
Red Sky
by Lilo Quie
Sailor has been different from most shifters since he was a little boy. Born to two free spirits, a mage and a wolf, he is the accidental consequence of two very different things. Not being as powerful as other mages has made him stronger and more clever, able to compensate in other ways. He’s got the instincts of a wolf that he cannot act upon, but everything seems to change when a little red bird picks his nightstand to nest on.
Leon, sent away from his home coven to find a mage to mate, finds himself in peril with the rapture burning around him. From the smoke and ashes, a beautiful male scoops him out of hell itself. It’s been over half a year, but Leon can’t make himself shift, can’t show Sailor his disfigurement or he’ll surely lose him. Until then, Leon’s happy to play gay pirate, riding the mage’s shoulder and cuddling into his collar.
Sailor’s Delight is the second installation of the Red Sky series featuring a prankster bird, a box-loving cat, nest, nest building, nesting, and did we say nest? When the two come together to solve the mystery of why Rex’s omega father abandoned him, they find more than they bargained for.
The last book they asked me to describe my book badly in one sentence. “Mages on motorcycles, snorting their dead and fleeing the rapture.” I figured I’d give it a shot for this one. “Mages on motorcycles giving people the bird.”
