Unfortunately, mine nearly cost my pack their lands, and they will never forgive me. And why would they? They didn’t make me leave, but they didn’t have to. My failure was so huge, I couldn’t subject them to the sight of me every day, so I packed up and left. With no idea where I was going or what I would do, I happened into a munch for Crowned, and when one of the alphas learned I was alone in town and broke, he suggested I apply for a job.
Bartender trainee. It didn’t pay much to start, but once I was ready to solo, I could make enough to be comfortable and maybe send some money home to try to make up for what I did.
As a supplier for Cuffed, I provide top-shelf liquor for the bar. I usually stop by once a week before opening to see what might be needed and then stay for the evening. But they hired the trainee I sent their way and he really needs help.
The new trainee is cute but also shy and quiet. No bartender earned good tips by behaving that way. I knew because I’d been a bartender before I started my company. When I stop by in the late afternoon, I offer helpful tips, teach him techniques, and remember how much I enjoyed that job. A bartender with a great repertoire, some fancy moves, and a gift for listening with warmth could make double the tips. Soon, we’re putting on a show for the membership. And the only ways I can get behind the bar when they are open was to get hired or to invest.
I’d been looking for a new opportunity anyway. Also to spend more time with my mate. My wolf and I are sure, but the omega shows no signs of interest in me beyond as a mentor. That needs to change or I will end up one frustrated alpha. But how to show him we can be great together?
