Frikka started life as a Jarl’s Dette son, a political hingepiece made to be traded for power. The one exception to a dette’s chastity was a ceremony known as the Running of the Drakes. When all the pieces fall into place, Frikka finds himself chasing one of the ruffian bastards of Tyr’s army, branded never to mate or hold station. When the dette that chooses him is one he’d lusted after since childhood, he conceives a clutch and sets the path to liberate the Nielsens, forge his way to the new world, and pray that his Dette finally finds peace.
